February Bury Our Fears

February is the shortest month of our calendar year. It’s the time when we celebrate the birthdays of some American Presidents. It’s Valentine’s Day when we demonstrate a special celebration of love and affection for those who hold special places in our lives and hearts. We also celebrate those African Americans who have made a difference in the world.
We have witnessed cold, stormy, cloudy and rainy weather this month. Schools and businesses have closed or worked with delayed schedules.
Perhaps this is the season of communication. During the times when we are inside more and among family, important conversations can be discussed. What are we thinking about our futures? Are we making preparations? How can family members assist and support us with those preparations?
A dear friend lost her mother a few days ago. She and the family were as prepared as anyone can be during this challenging time. She was relieved to have made the final plans in advance. There is a sense of comfort in being ready. I applaud her for her efficiency and send continual peace and blessings to her family.
I also attended the memorial services for my mother-in-law this month who was indeed a family matriarch. Her home-going celebration was fitting.
As February draws to a close, let’s bury our fears and move into the light of making our possibilities realities because we are prepared. We can ask for support. We know that we can take out some time for ourselves to think and reflect.
February with its stormy weather may be the perfect time exhibit our faith and move in the direction of our desires.
Looking forward to hearing feedback from you.
Joy and light,
Angela
