February Bury Our Fears

February is the shortest month of our calendar year. It’s the time when we celebrate the birthdays of some American Presidents. It’s Valentine’s Day when we demonstrate a special celebration of love and affection for those who hold special places in our lives and hearts. We also celebrate those African Americans who have made a difference in the world.
We have witnessed cold, stormy, cloudy and rainy weather this month. Schools and businesses have closed or worked with delayed schedules.
Perhaps this is the season of communication. During the times when we are inside more and among family, important conversations can be discussed. What are we thinking about our futures? Are we making preparations? How can family members assist and support us with those preparations?
A dear friend lost her mother a few days ago. She and the family were as prepared as anyone can be during this challenging time. She was relieved to have made the final plans in advance. There is a sense of comfort in being ready. I applaud her for her efficiency and send continual peace and blessings to her family.
I also attended the memorial services for my mother-in-law this month who was indeed a family matriarch. Her home-going celebration was fitting.
As February draws to a close, let’s bury our fears and move into the light of making our possibilities realities because we are prepared. We can ask for support. We know that we can take out some time for ourselves to think and reflect.
February with its stormy weather may be the perfect time exhibit our faith and move in the direction of our desires.
Looking forward to hearing feedback from you.
Joy and light,
Angela

It’s hard to believe it’s August already.  My how time flies. It has been a busy summer.  Trust you are getting in some relaxation, some” time outs” and managing your time of self care more effectively.

If your summer activities have been limited, take the time to participate and engage in something that is fun for you and simple to do.  Some ideas are summer concerts.  Many parks anphoto (11)d beaches have free concerts and free movies.  Grab a blanket, some of the wonderful fruits and vegetables that are readily available during the summer months, share with some friends and family and enjoy. Summer Breeze

We are officially in the midst of summer with barbecues — try grilling some vegetables and fruit. The beach is calling. Watch or participate in a game of volley ball. Many outdoor concerts are free. Lighter cooking frees up our time and looks good on our bodies. Allow summer breeze to bring more joy to and for you.
We have also passed the mid-mark for this year. What happened? Are our goals and intentions being fulfilled or are they near that half way point? Let’s re-focus and make specific and clear action toward attaining what our hearts desire.
Take the time to enjoy some of the breezes of summer. Get out and appreciate nature. Watch the butterflies as they flutter about. Observe the birds watching you as they decide where to land for a sweet taste of summer.
Go out to a Farmers Market and indulge of the freshness of summer fruit and vegetables. Taste the delicacies of colors — purples, reds, greens and yellows. (tomatoes, grapes, squash, zucchini, peaches, apricots and more.  When is the last time you bought yourself a snow cone or even a scoop of real ice cream.  It goes with the breezes of summer.
Call friends. Do something adventurous. Rent and ride a bike. Take a new class — something that relaxes you or reinvigorates you. Read an exciting novel. Write a love letter to yourself. Mail it and enjoy the splendor that is you as you enthusiastically read it.
Gather fresh flowers from your yard or from the neighbors. You are worthy.
You are deserving. Summer is the perfect time to add more beauty, more self care

and more value to your life.
